X.gd is an independent URL shortener operated on a non-profit basis. It is widely used for everything from personal use to corporate and government use.
As with any web service, we cannot guarantee permanent operation. However, because X.gd is operated on a non-profit basis, the risk of shutdown due to monetization difficulties or operating costs is extremely low.
URL shorteners are convenient, but they can also be abused for phishing and other fraudulent activity. To help users use X.gd safely, we work to prevent misuse through direct cooperation with security organizations, semi-automated 24-hour monitoring and rapid response, and our own fraud detection system.
