The year of the plague, by Daniel Battiston

I got into photography as a grown-up and entered through the digital door. A couple of years later I started flirting with film, and today I move without complexes between the two worlds, I see them as different tools to achieve different results.

The year of the plague, by Daniel Battiston

I was born and live in Mar del Plata, Argentina
I got into photography as a grown-up and entered through the digital door. A couple of years later I started flirting with film, and today I move without complexes between the two worlds, I see them as different tools to achieve different results.
The series I present, made with a Holga 120N, is a work still in progress, where I try to portray the city where I live in the midst of the quarantine and restrictions imposed by the government, the most extensive so far: it began on March 2020 and it keeps going.
About Holga, I can say that I like the results, which often seem to have escaped from a dream. I feel free to play with the dreamlike landscapes that I see through it.

All photos were taken with a Holga 120N, Fomapan 100 and Kodak TMax 400 film, in the city of Mar del Plata, Argentina, during the quarantine and mandatory isolation decreed by the government since the beginning of the COVID 19 pandemic.
